If you are interested in reducing the visible effects of age and improving the tone and texture of your skin, you may benefit from the laser skin resurfacing treatments offered at Flores Plastic Surgery.

What is laser skin resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing treatments use laser energy to remove the outer layers of the skin that are primarily comprised of dead and damaged skin cells. Removing this outer layer helps improve the overall tone and texture of the skin, and can help address several common skin concerns, including age spots, sun damage, and acne scarring.

At Flores Plastic Surgery, we use the Icon 1540 non-ablative laser for our skin resurfacing treatments. Using a non-ablative laser for our laser skin resurfacing treatments allows us to offer our patients a treatment that allows them to refresh and revitalize their skin without the downtime and recovery period associated with ablative laser skin resurfacing. What conditions can be treated?

Our Icon 1540 non-ablative laser skin resurfacing treatments can treat a variety of common skin concerns, including:

Our laser skin resurfacing treatments may be used to treat other skin concerns. During your consultation, a member of our team will review your skin type and skin concerns and determine if this is the right skin rejuvenation treatment for you.

What kind of results can I expect?

The first few days following your treatment session the skin in the treated area may darken and pigmented lesions may become more apparent. These reactions are a normal part of the treatment process and will subside as the body heals the skin in the treated area. Many of our patients experience noticeable results, specifically in the tone and texture of their skin, approximately treatment ten days after their treatment session. The most visible improvement in the treated area can typically be seen within three to eight months of treatment. Individual results may vary.

How many treatments will I need?

We typically recommend our patients start with a series of three to six treatments scheduled approximately four to eight weeks apart. Some patients may require additional treatment sessions depending on their skin concerns and goals for treatment. During your initial consultation, we will recommend the appropriate treatment plan based on your skin type, skin concerns, and treatment goals.

What are the potential side effects?

Common side effects can include some mild redness in the treated area following your laser skin resurfacing treatment session. This is a temporary side effect that typically resolves on its own within a few days of treatment.
