Adipose Stem Cells/Fat Grafting

Fat Grafting

Fat grafting, or fat transfer, is one of the most effective ways to restore a youthful appearance. As we age, we start to lose essential volume and fat all over the body. Restoring this tissue with a procedure such as fat grafting can help you maintain a youthful appearance for years to come. This is just one of the many personalized aesthetic procedures we are proud to provide at Flores Plastic Surgery. Interested in finding out what fat grafting may be able to do for you? What Is Fat Grafting?

Fat grafting involves harvesting fat from a donor site on the body (usually the abdomen, love handles, thighs or a similar area) and transferring it to an area in which the patient would prefer to have it. The area the fat will be transferred to will depend on your own personal preferences, but common areas include the face, buttocks and lips. Almost any area of the body that is subject to loss of fatty tissue with age is a popular treatment for this procedure.

The process of fat grafting begins by harvesting and purifying fat from donor areas on the patient’s own body. Donor sites typically include areas such as the outer thighs, abdomen or buttocks.

After the fat is purified, it is then readministered to targeted areas via injection. Common treatment areas include the face, breasts and hands. Areas like these are typically most severely affected by the loss of fatty tissue, meaning they tend to show the signs of aging more readily than other areas. By restoring fat to these areas, they can remain youthful-looking for years to come.

Fat grafting is typically performed on an outpatient basis. The exact length of the procedure varies from patient to patient, but it generally does not take more than a few hours to complete. Most patients can be sent home to rest the same day.

During your consultation, our doctor will discuss your aesthetic goals with you and help you decide if a fat transfer is the right procedure for you.

The Role of Adipose Stem Cells in Fat Grafting

Thanks to adipose-derived stem cells, fat grafting has become more efficient and longer-lasting than ever before. Once injected, stem cells will encourage the body to continue to produce tissue in the treated areas. This means that you can continue to enjoy your results for many years following your procedure.

We now enable all our patients undergoing this exciting treatment to store their stem cells here for future needs! Whether it’s for treating age-related medical conditions or promoting younger-looking skin. Ask our team about this amazing opportunity!
